OL Reign Re-Signs Goalkeeper Claudia Dickey Through 2025 Season

OL Reign has re-signed goalkeeper Claudia Dickey through the 2025 NWSL season, the club announced today. Per league and club policy, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

“I am so excited to extend my time with this club,” said Dickey. “I’m confident that we will only continue to grow as a club and I can’t wait to continue my journey in such a special place.”

Dickey was selected as the 20th overall pick in the 2022 NWSL Draft by OL Reign and made her debut during the 2023 Challenge Cup. The second-year goalkeeper made three starts in the Challenge Cup, recording 12 saves and finishing the tournament without conceding a goal. The Charlotte, North Carolina native went on to start the remaining six games of the regular season and finished with three shutouts and 21 saves in those games.

The 23-year-old made her NWSL playoff debut in the club’s 1-0 quarterfinal win against Angel City FC, becoming the fifth goalkeeper all-time in the league to earn a shutout in a playoff debut and the third youngest goalkeeper among the five. Dickey also set a club record for shutouts in the NWSL playoffs after securing a second consecutive clean sheet during the semifinal against San Diego Wave FC.

Across all NWSL competitions, Dickey finished the 2023 season with eight shutouts and 37 saves in 12 starts. Among goalkeepers to appear in at least nine games in the NWSL regular season and playoffs, Dickey finished with the best goals against average (0.78).

“The club is pleased to extend Claudia Dickey's contract,” said general manager Lesle Gallimore. “Her skillset as a goalkeeper aligns with our desired style of play in the attack. Defensively, she excels at general shot-stopping and claiming crosses and has shown in a relatively short period of time that she can be one of the best goalkeepers in the NWSL. We look forward to her continued development with the club.”
