OL Reign Sign Goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce Through 2022 Season

OL Reign has signed goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce through the 2022 NWSL season. Tullis-Joyce, who currently plays for Stade de Reims in France, is set to join the club at the conclusion of the Division 1 Féminine season. Per league and club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Tullis-Joyce joins OL Reign from Stade de Reims, where she has made 34 starts since joining the club for its 2019/2020 season, playing a total of 3060 minutes while earning nine clean sheets.

Tullis-Joyce, 24, is a New York native and graduate of University of Miami. While playing for the Hurricanes, Tullis-Joyce was the co-captain of the squad, starting all 18 matches and averaging just 1.39 goals against per match, earning herself Second Team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors.

“We have been closely following Phallon’s development in France, where she has shown great potential over the last two seasons,” said OL Reign head coach Farid Benstiti. “While still a young keeper, Phallon brings big experience playing against some of the top clubs in the world, including OL and PSG. We see her potential and are excited to add her to the squad.”

Tullis-Joyce will join a goalkeeping corps that includes English international Karen Bardsley, Texas A&M graduate Cosette Morché, and Washington State University graduate Ella Dederick. Bardsley’s loan with OL Reign concludes in June 2021, coinciding with the anticipated arrival of Tullis-Joyce.

“France has been an incredible chapter in my career, un énorme merci à mes coéquipières, mes coaches, le staff, l’organisation et les supporteurs de Reims pour m’avoir aidé à évoluer comme personne et comme joueuse,” said Tullis-Joyce. “I am extremely excited and very grateful for the opportunity to begin a new journey with OL Reign this season. OL Reign is making waves with their environmental efforts while grinding for the NWSL title and I cannot wait to be a part of the team and dedicate my best ability to this inspiring program with their remarkable fanbase.”
